Really good Grounds and SUPERB Dining

The hotel's main grounds appear well kept. The restaurant provides excellent food. The cottage I occupied maintained a good level of cleanliness. The on-site gym offered WELL-EQUIPPED facilities. More electric car charging points would be a beneficial addition.

During check-in I experienced disorganization. I also think some areas still require a refresh to meet the standards of the renovated sections.

SUPER Stay!

THE staff was helpful! The room size was perfect and clean. The food in the restaurant WAS delicious.

I understand this hotel has recently changed ownership, and with that often come teething problems. You can clearly see where parts of the hotel have already been refreshed, and where attention is still very much needed. That said, for £292 (even with a 20% discount) for a two-night stay, the experience felt overpriced given the circumstances. Check-in was disorganised, with several issues leading up to our stay. The pool was unavailable, and the lift, in very poor condition, really needs urgent attention. While the room itself was pleasant, a little more consideration for what guests actually need would go a long way. Can we please have a woman in charge of designing the vanity area? Some practical thought and functionality wouldn't go amiss.

The breakfast offered a good selection of items including classic English breakfast options. The staff refilled food promptly. I guess that was fine.

I thought the pool was unavailable which was quite inconvenient. The lift looked rather worn. It seemed it needed urgent attention which detracted from the experience.
